In ancient times, Pervolia was a resting place for Royals and Aristocracy. An archaeological landmark of the Venetian Empire (1489-1570) is the ‘Tower of Regena’, portrayed by the characteristic emblem of the Venetian officers and the Lion of Saint Marcus, the symbol for Venetian Democracy.

The Tower is built on top of a low rise hill and is strategically situated near the shore. It is a squared plan and was mainly served as an observatory with an approximate height of 6m. The tower consists of two floors with a single entrance on the west, 4m from the ground level. Its restoration began in 1911 and is currently listed as a ‘protected monument’ according to the law in 1905.
